Stella WONG, a native of Hong Kong, holds her Master degree of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University (Bloomington, U.S.A.), where she studied with Menahem Pressler. She won a music scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to pursue her graduate study. She got her Bachelor Degree of Arts (Music), with first class honors, from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her awards include Bernard Van Zuiden Music Prize, S.C. Leung Music Prize, Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship, Lord Fulton Memorial Prize, Kunkle and Pommerende Grand Scholarship, C. F. Hu Postgraduate Scholarship, Academic Creativity Award, Bank of East Asia Golden Jubilee Scholarship, Jackie Chan Scholarship etc.. She was awarded the Licentiate Piano Performer's Diploma from Trinity College London in 1995 and has attended piano performance training in Moscow Conservatory in Russia in 2000. Wong has often appeared as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. She has also been invited to act as an external examiner in piano examinations in institutions as well as serving as an adjudicator in music competitions of different natures. She often holds lectures or workshops on topics of piano pedagogy and piano performance in Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education, School of Continuing and Professional Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Institute of Education, as well as The Hong Kong International Institute of Music.
She is also a dedicated piano teacher besides her various performing activities. She is currently a piano instructor in The Hong Kong Institute of Education, and a part-time instructor in Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education and School of Continuing and Professional Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
